Comprising a Life

The Bonsai, Travels and Haiku of Vaughn Banting

Smaller gardens

Over the years of my career I have designed or maintained a number of interesting smaller gardens too. Here are some pictures of a few.

This was a charming little garden I looked after which had an equally charming grandmotherly type owner who I addored.

Small knot garden

I did not construct this garden but enjoyed keeping it changing, through the use of annuals and bulbs.

The Gen. Beauregard House Garden

This Garden was hypotheticaly looked after by a local garden club but in practice was maintained by Nicholas and Banting.

This is a small garden and pool I maintained right at the edge of The French Quarter in New Orleans.

I legged up the hedge around the pool and planted "crescent roll-shaped" groupings of Redwing azaleas as backdrops for seasonal color change-outs.

Here are some pictures of a front planting I designed and maintained in Old Metairie.
